FIRST HOME FOR THE AGED PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME IN SRI LANKA. (PAHAN PIYASA Since March 2022)

Donated the following items for this Home for aged run by Mrs. Rathnayaka. These items were not new but extra items at home. This home also accomadates people with Down Syndrome. TV, TV cabinet, DVD player (almost new), Mini fridge. We are promoting the homes for the aged to accommodate people with Down Syndrome. (New vision of Jinendhi Resource Centre for Down Syndrome) –

UP FOR DOWN’S – China Down Syndrome Association Travel Group Visit

On 1st August 2025, the UP FOR DOWN’S China Down Syndrome Association Travel Group visited one of the JRCFDS Down Syndrome welfare centres at Horana — “Rathna Piyasa” Home for the Aged and Aged People with Down Syndrome. This visit was a special highlight of the “Travel with Jinendhi” itinerary package. The distinguished guests, including the President, Secretary, and supporting families, warmly engaged with the residents, observed ongoing programmes, and participated in a series of heart-touching activities:

Studying the centre’s services
Sharing a tea party
Enjoying entertainment events
Short speeches from both sides
Exchange of gifts and donations

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy as visitors, parents, staff, and residents shared unforgettable moments together. Everyone departed with cherished memories and a deep sense of purpose, knowing the tour had supported a meaningful cause. The visitors expressed their pride in being part of JRCFDS – Sri Lanka’s service programmes dedicated to empowering and caring for people with Down Syndrome
